Sorry for the lateness of this post, especially since we have a Thursday game to pick. Also, note that I’ve made two changes to this week’s picks. There is this new trend for teams to schedule a cupcake game in the middle of the season. The thinking, I guess, is that rather than having two cupcake games to start the season you have one at the beginning to break in your team and then one in the middle of the season to give your team a break from playing all the conference foes. I don’t like this trend and as a result we will not be picking Ohio State’s game this week (at home against New Mexico St) nor will we be picking ClemPson’s game (at home against Coastal Carolina) because good teams should schedule other good nonconference teams.
As for last week everyone did extremely well. And hey, Duke is 4-2!

Oregon-USC game should be amazing. Going to be cold and wet in Eugene on Saturday. It’s not on so late that you east coasters can’t watch it (8pm eastern). Plus we add an hour on Saturday night, so no excuses people, watch west coast football for a change!
!!!!!!!!!!!IMPORTANT, READ NUMBERS 4, 6, AND 9!!!!!!!!!!!
As I mentioned, I had some formatting issues so couldn’t make comments. Here’s what I was going to say.
1) Mao, as an Indians fan how pissed are you that both World Series starters played for the Indians. So had the Indians kept them, they’d be unstoppable.
2) Both USC and Oregon are overrated, so I’m only vaguely tempted to watch that game.
3) Lane Kiffin is an idiot. After the tightend makes that great catch if the run up and spike theball there would’ve been like 35 seconds left. Then they could run a 5 to 10 yrd pass play. If that goes for an incompletion you’ve got time to run another 5-10 yrd pass play. If it is complete, then you run up and spike it again to make it 4rth down and send the kicker out there for a shorter field goal that he can loft over Mt Cody. Instead he hasthem run a quick dive to the center of the field that gains no yards and then has the players stand around waiting for the clock to tick down to 3 seconds. That’s wasted time you moron!
4) South Carolina is ranked 22 and I forgot to put that in the post
5) Clempson is funny to me bc that’s how it should be pronounced. It’s not an insult, just a way to point out to northerners who announce the games that there is a silent p in the word.
6) The Georgia v Florida game is played in Jacksonville, FL
7) Central MIchigan @ BC is the sneaky good game to watch. Seriously, CM has a great QB and BC has a great offense.
9) the unc @ vt game is thursday, tomorrow, so get your picks in before then.
apparently 8 next to ) makes a smily face with sunglasses. who knew.
It was very difficult indeed when they announced the Game 1 starters for the World Series. But when you’re an Indians fan, you get used to these kinds of feelings.
I don’t think Oregon is overrated at all. In fact, I think they’re underrated. They’ve been beating the dogshit out of everyone after they lost in the first game at Boise. That’s about as good a loss as any team in the country has right now. Now, they could very well lose to USC and be proved not that great, but for now, I think it’s a damn good game. Especially with the crappy weather in Eugene slowing USC down.
But it is Halloween so I’m not actually expecting anyone in the east to be watching that game.

WEEK OF UPSETS!!!
It’s Halloween, baby, when babies turn to grown men and cats into witches and UGA becomes a threatening team and Northwestern something fierce. Sadly, not even the power of All Hallow’s Eve can prevent UVA from losing to Duke for two years in a row. I look foward to garnering negative points, this week. Thank you, grazie, gracias, you’re too kind.

3 – Duke (but I worry that uva has a bounce back game)
2 – Kentucky
1 – Tennessee (bc they are at home)
I want everyone to note that I hate my BC pick. All of BC’s wins have been at home, but Central Michigan is like 7-1 and can tear it up through the air with their QB. This schould be the potential upset special of the week.
First of all, when I throw in a bunch of 50/50 games so that you’re totally unsure of the team you put at number 7, isn’t it much better than having a bunch of sure things with Clemson and Ohio State beating up cupcakes this week?
Betting
No sure things this week. I may just sit on my hands. But, with a gun to my head I think the following:
Florida is a 15pt favorite. What? Not only do they keep failing to cover the spread (past two weeks) but they keep almost losing. I think Florida wins, but not by a large margin so I guess Georgia is a good bet.
Oregon is +3 and USC has a freshman QB who’ll be on the road in a tough stadium.
Sadly, Duke is -7 and UT is -6. I love my Devils, but is there anyway they are a 7pt favorite on the road? When was the last time we beat an ACC team two years in a row? Until Cutcliff came we’d gone a couple of years without beating any conference teams. Anyway, UVA may rally back from last week so I would never bet against Duke but I sure as hell won’t bet on them this week. And UT, well Lane Kiffin does not inspire confidence.
Oh and Central Mich is a 6pt underdog. So like I said, they are really very decent and could beat BC especially if BC has thrown in the towel for the season.
In fact, fuck it, I picked BC but Central Mich is my lock o’ the week.
Go Central Mich, I may even put $ on it.
That is not how it should be pronounced fool. Not at all.

Here are my picks. Don’t like that you made the judgement to take out Clemson when 2 people had them as their favorite but whatever, not going to get anywhere close to winning anyways. I was just looking forward to my solid 10 pick this week. Sometimes the little things are never enough.
